This northwestern region of Italy borders on France and Switzerland. Piedmont, as the name itself says, is a country at the foot of the mountains: it is bordered on three sides by the Alpine chain, which has the highest peaks and glaciers in Italy. In front of the fantastic backdrop of the Alps, some beautiful valleys open here, e.g. the Susa Valley, the Valsesia and the Val d`Ossola.
The Langhe area and the Monferrato area are completely different, but no less interesting: an endless chain of vineyards, villages and castles.
But nature is one of the many attractions of Piedmont. The region has many other facets: From Turin, the car capital of Italy, with its history and great cultural heritage, to other cities and towns such as Cherasco, Alba and Cuneo.
